The ending of a year always seems to bring a mixed bag of feelings for me. It always draws me in to slow down and reflect on what has gone on during the last year as well as begin to anticipate all that the new year is opening up for me.

About 10 years ago I began creating visual journals of my Hopes, Dreams, and Wishes for the coming year. These are not resolutions, resolutions never had any staying power for me. Instead, I will use the word intentions to open up the door to the hopes dreams and wishes that make my soul sing.

As I look back though all these Hope, Dreams, and Wishes Visual Journals I am always stunned by what has manifested in my life once I put them out into the universe in word and visual form. Sometimes these dreams manifests quickly, sometimes they take several years to manifest, and now I am aware that some have not yet manifested.

This visual journal process reminds of the movie “Field of Dreams” and the statement in the movie that told Kevin Costner, “ If you build it they will come.”

One of my intentions since I moved north four years ago has been to open my studio for others to come and enjoy creating together, whether in a small group workshop or in an individual session. My goal is to share my love and belief with others that art making soothes the soul, opens new doors of learning, and becomes another way to share our stories.

So with that in mind, I am excited to announce that I am offering 2 workshops in February at Artzmaker Studio.

Create a 2025 Visual Journal of Hopes, Dreams, and Wishes February 1, 2025, Saturday-10am-4pm

A Scribble A Day Keeps the Doctor Away February 8, 2025, Saturday 10am-1pm

Take a look at the descriptions below and let me know If you are interested in attending. Offering these workshops is an attempt to move out of my cocoon and challenge myself to get back into teaching as well as share my love of making art. It is important to know NO SKILLS ARE NECESSARY for any of these workshops. We will begin the process of creating wherever you are. I am here to facilitate new adventures as well as support those who want to engage and learn new skills. So here we go...

Have you always wanted to try to make art but were afraid and thought you would embarrass yourself so you have not tried ? Are you afraid of making mistakes? Have you heard yourself say out loud, “I can’t draw a straight line?” Are you interested in tapping into your own style of creativity but have been hesitant because of all the messages in your head? Are you afraid of being spontaneous? Are you fond of doodling and think it is nothing? Have you been blocked creatively? Well if you want to learn how doodling and spontaneity can work together, this workshop is for you!

Just remember: All you need is a desire to play, learn and create with art materials.

It all begins with a large piece a paper, a light oil base crayon and an wild and crazy scribble on that feared piece of blank paper. The magic is that from the messy scribble lines something will appear.

Look carefully at this piece of work here on the left. There are pink lines behind the images. THERE ARE NO MISTAKES! Every scribble becomes a journey into the unknown. An adventure and exploration of art materials, story telling and tapping into your own imagination by playing with craypas.

This workshop might help set you free from all that has been tying you down. We will meet the new year with open arms. You just never know where a scribble will lead. But what I can promise you is that for a few hours you will loosening up your body, work on going with the flow, laughing, playing with art materials and tapping into your own creative imagination.

Any questions give me a call (216- 870-4072).
